Say "Howdy!" to Our New Neighbor

Words Per Minute!

Our good friends from the Carroll County Literacy Council (CCLC) have rented the space in the Church Annex formerly used as the children's Sunday School. As you may know, the CCLC is responsible for helping adults learn how to read and write in English. This important work prepares people to apply for and find jobs, to complete all the "paperwork" that is required to function in modern society, and to help their own children master school work and integration into the larger community.

The CCLC is a 501c3 non-profit organization governed by a local board of directors and a state board located in Little Rock. They have been helping people in Carroll County for about 20 years and are highly regarded as providing an important and critical service to our community.

As our newest "neighbor" CCLC has set up a wireless Internet service that can be accessed by anyone in our neighborhood. They are also helping FCC build a dynamic new website that will feature the important work that all our ministries do as we "Build a Community of Hope."

Volunteer staffs from the CCLC will be on church property on most afternoons during the week from about 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, including Wednesday night. If you see volunteers and students from the CCLC please reach out and give them a big "Howdy!" of welcome.
