Trash...into Treasure!Dave and Shelley Buttgen were busy as bees deconstructing an old dog house this week and were thoughtful enough to contact our Community Gardeners to see if they could use the materials for our new Children's Garden. The answer was a resounding yes!
We were able to take some of the material--all green treated lumber--and turn it into durable planters which we'll fill with sweet potato vines and use as markers to the new garden's entrance. Pictured below is one of the planters.
If you have old building materials laying around--lumber, landscaping rock, railroad ties, or fence posts--please let your Community Gardeners know. We can use them! And, we'll be glad to give you a Letter of Donation to document your gift for the IRS. Thanks, Dave & Shelley!
